Summer "vacation" in London sans kids

They told us they were going to London for work ... but looks like they went to Hogwarts for their summer vacation after sending us back to school.

Trying to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace.  No luck meeting the royal family but they did the see the "Changing of the Guard" ceremony.

Mom so excited for mushroom risotto at Borough Market.   No sure why they always seems to happy (and carefree) when they travel without us.  

Celebrating their 17th Anniversary (again) in London.  

Meanwhile we got spoiled by Uncle Michael and Gma/Gpa at home.   Thanks so much for coming over to spend time with us.  

Mari missed mom and dad.  Mom missed pho ... girls date to pho hoa to catch up on the week.  

Back to school 2019

3rd, 8th and Sophomore year ... here we go! 

So excited for the 3rd grade, my new teacher is awesome! 

Annual back to school dinner celebration ... this year we picked the Habit Burger.   Simple and yummy. 

Dad was in Tahoe for a team offsite with 3000+ employees.  Here they are river rafting. 

Mom's monthly siblings dinner.  She seems to really enjoy hanging out with her siblings since she doesn't come home til super late.  

17 years

Mom and Dad celebrated their 17th wedding anniv at Nobu in Palo Alto. 

Then they went out for a late night.

Uncle Stanley and Auntie Kimanh got married on Sat at beautiful Nestldown in Los Gatos.  

Mom's cousins (just a fraction of them).

Many were so happy to have an evening getaway from the kiddos. 

While they were at the wedding, we ate sushi and drank (root)beer floats. 

Such a nice family hang out with the Mewies and Gma / Gpa.

Mom's monthly dinner with her siblings (Auntie Tracy is in Singapore).  Sounds like they were quite chatty again and was out til after midnight. 

Dad's co-working from London is taking a special 6 wk executive program at Stanford so we were invited for a dinner and private tour.  Such a big and beautiful campus.

Every Weds during the summer, our neighborhood has a food truck picnic party.  Adults mingle, kids play and sell lemonade .... one of the MANY reasons we love our community of 15 years.  Our parents have known many neighborhood kids since they were babies and many are in high school now (think they are feeling a bit old watching us grow)!  

Dad's boys night out with his long time Googler buddies.  They still remain BFFs even though most of them are on different teams now.

We are dog sitting Uncle Michael's dog, Tommy.  The K9 cousins are getting along ok so far. 

Our monthly brother date ... Tommy joined us this time.  Was nice sitting outside to chat.

Dad went to Zurich, Switzerland for the 3rd time this year.  Sounds like he had a productive and yummy trip.
